    Helping the Homeless Colorado, a 501(c) 3 non-profit, was founded in 2016 in Denver, Colorado by students Alyssa Gorkin & Matine Khalighi. Helping the Homeless Colorado works with individuals who are experiencing homelessness to improve their quality of life. You can read more about us here.
  2. What does Helping the Homeless Colorado do?
    Our mission is to create a comprehensive structural solution to homelessness that addresses the issue at its core and to empower our youth to be the basis of this change. Helping the Homeless Colorado has spent years working with Colorado’s homeless population. This approach has these pillars aimed at a comprehensive solution to the homeless crisis that Colorado faces.
  3. How can I get involved?
    There are many ways to get involved at Helping the Homeless Colorado. Outreach days are monthly service days where the team distributes accessible resources to the homeless community.   4. How do I make a donation?
    To donate, you can write a check to Helping the Homeless Colorado and sent it to our PO Box 370094. All donations are tax-deductible. You will receive your receipt in the form of an email within 24 hours of donation. No goods or services will be provided as a result of this donation. Please contact us if you have any questions.   7. What is the Scholarship Award Program?
    Helping the Homeless Scholarship Awards Program is designed to highlight the incredible potential of Colorado’s young people as well as the challenges which prevent too many of them from succeeding. Our program also supports individuals who are seeking to attain a higher level of education. Our scholarship pays for tuition and books. You can read more about this program here.
  8. What are the three pillars?
    Helping the Homeless Colorado has three pillars: Educate, Avocate, and Alleviate. Educate focuses on changing the public’s views of homelessness. Advocated addresses homelessness on a political level. Alleviate is dedicated to accessible resources for those who are actively struggling with homelessness. Click here to read more information.
